Old Milon
In “Old Milon” by Guy De Maupassant, Old Milon, the old man that got shot, had many characteristics in him, but he was a daring individual, who was not scared of the Prussians the most. Hesitation was not in Milon’s vocabulary when it came to telling the colonel who killed the Prussian soldiers. He wore the Prussian soldier’s uniform at night and he rode around the city. This showed that Milon did not care if he got caught, and that he was daring enough to go around the city killing soldiers. Milon spat on the Colonel’s face twice when the colonel was trying to get Milon off the hook with the other Prussian. When he was shot because he spat on the colonel’s face, Milon looked at his son and daughter-in-law and just smiled. In all, Milon is daring since he had the courage to rebel against the Prussians.
